Allegations against Carers (AACffir)

Description

This course helps foster carers understand allegations, welfare concerns, and complaints, including why they may arise and how they are managed. Learners explore the differences between these processes, the responsibilities of Tusla and Fostering First Ireland, and the procedures followed when concerns are raised about a foster placement.

The course also examines the emotional impact that allegations can have on foster carers and their families, while outlining the supports available throughout an investigation. By the end of the course, learners will have a clear understanding of the assessment processes, their rights and responsibilities, and the importance of safeguarding children while ensuring fair and transparent procedures for foster carers.
